Working models
What working models are there?
Permanent workplace: This model is available for those who prefer a permanent workplace for personal reasons or due to the nature of their work.
Shared office (BG): Several colleagues share workstations assigned to the BG that are overbooked (i.e. there are more people than places). The BG organizes itself. The BG decides independently who uses which workstation and when. In the BG, for example, cupboards can be shared. Members of a BG can access all flex workstations in the SCC, e.g. if all BG members work on the same day.
Full flex: Without a fixed workstation and without belonging to a shared office, full flex status offers the greatest flexibility. Working in different teams can be reconfigured at any time. Full flex employees can use all flex workstations at SCC.
How much home office is possible?
Working from home must be compatible with personal activities and agreed with the head of department.
The regulation applicable to the SCC for the duration of the KIT New Work project will be extended until the planned company agreement on home office at KIT is adopted.
Fully flexible employees and members of a shared office can work from home for up to 80 percent of their weekly working hours.
SCC members with a permanent workplace can work up to 40 percent of their weekly working hours from home.
I would like to become part of a shared office, what do I need to do?
Talk to the office community and your department head. If everyone agrees, let's go! If you form a new shared office together, the following instructions apply to everyone.
-
Inform Torsten Antoni, who is responsible for room management at the SCC, preferably by email (department head and anny-support∂scc.kit.edu in cc).
-
Vacate your previous workplace and hand in the room keys (CN: CIS, H. Rosmanek; CS: FuA H. Karich), where you will also find keys for the BG room.
-
For the booking in Anny you will receive an invitation to the "SCC New Work" community and can then book all flex workstations.

Full flex meets my expectations, how do I get started?

Vacate your current workplace and hand in the room keys (CN: CIS, H. Rosmanek; CS: FuA H. Karich)
-
You will receive an invitation to the "SCC New Work" community and can then book all flex workstations.
I am currently a full flex worker and would like to switch to a shared office.
Talk to the office community and your department head. If everyone agrees, here we go!
-
Inform Torsten Antoni, who is responsible for room management in the SCC, preferably by email (department head and anny-support∂scc.kit.edu in cc).
-
The booking authorizations in Anny remain the same.
I would like a permanent workplace, is that possible?
The choice of working model is up to you. It is best to inform Torsten Antoni, who is responsible for room management at the SCC, about your wish to change by e-mail (department management and anny-support∂scc.kit.edu in the cc). The permanent workstation will be assigned by Torsten Antoni.
We would like to work in a group. What agile rooms are available?
CN: Rooms 126 in Building 141 and 201 in Building 449 are set up as creative spaces and offer alternative working environments with beanbags, sofas, pinboards and (electronic) whiteboards.
CS: We are currently setting up another creative space in building 20.20.
The creative rooms can be booked by all SCC members in Anny. The equipment is described in detail there.
A new employee is being recruited in our group. What is the procedure?
A flex workstation can be blocked for a defined period of time during the induction period. Torsten Antoni determines the workplace in consultation with the head of department. After the induction period, the new employee decides on a working model in consultation with the head of department and communicates this to Torsten Antoni (head of department and anny-support∂scc.kit.edu in cc).
Access to flex workstations
Where can I find a flex workstation?
The workstations (resources) are managed in the Anny room booking system.
How can I access Anny?
-
Via the website anny.eu/b/kit -- Login via SSO -- Internet address of your organization: kit.edu -- next -- Shibboleth Identity Provider
-
Via the app in MS Teams anny eu+
Who can book what with Anny?
SCC employees, guests and partners can log in to Anny without an invitation email and have access to the "SCC All" community, icon on the right of the Anny website. You can book the creative rooms, equipment and flex workstations at any location (141, 449 and 20.21).
Full flexers and BG members receive an invitation email from Anny Support to the SCC New Work community and thus have access to all flex workstations.
Are the rooms with flex workstations locked?
The rooms are either open (see below), have offline locks that can be opened with the KIT card or the key is in a key box. The key for the key box is handed out at the service desk in the CN and in the secretariat in the CS. Please hang up the room key again!
-
CN: The rooms in Building 449 are not locked. The key for creative room 201 is located in the key box on the left-hand side of the locker in the passageway from B. 449 to 441.
-
CN: In building 141, the key box is located on the right-hand side of the locker in the passageway from the corridor to the computer center annex.
-
CS: The rooms in the CS are equipped with offline locking cylinders that can be opened with the KIT card as soon as a booking has been made in Anny. First make a booking, then place the card on the Siport reader at the door to the stairwell until a long beep is heard. The offline locking cylinder lights up green when an authorized card is inserted. Please use the KIT card to lock the room again when you leave. There are no more room keys.
How are the flex workstations equipped (technology)?
The standard equipment includes two screens with an integrated docking station (network connection) that can be used with USB-C. Laptop, keyboard and mouse must be brought along.
Can the workstations also be used without booking?
Yes - but. A booking entitles you to use the space in any case. Anyone working at a flex workstation without a booking must vacate the workstation immediately and without comment if it is used by an authorized person with a booking.
Another question
What equipment is available?
In the Anny Community "SCC Alle", not only rooms and workstations can be booked, but equipment is also available to all SCC members. In addition to a portable projector in the CS, there are three Meeting Owls in the CN and two in the CS. One Meeting Owl is a video conferencing system with a 360-degree camera and speakers for hybrid meetings, easy to connect with plug-and-play.
The equipment is housed in the lockers, which are located in the CN in the passageway between Building 449 and 441, and in the CS currently still in the 3rd floor social room and soon in Building 20.20 in Room 372.2. The keys to the lockers are in the key boxes. The key for the key box is handed out at the service desk in the CN and in the secretariat in the CS.
Please return the equipment and the locker key in good time before the end of the reserved time!
How can I stay reachable by phone without a fixed workstation?
With Rainbow, you always have your KIT telephone number with you: PC, notebook, smartphone or tablet. FM has instructions on how to get started.
The existing telephone number can be "virtualized" via a ticket to FM (TTS), i.e. the landline is disconnected and the telephone number can continue to be used via Rainbow.
Is there a storage location so that I don't always have to bring everything from home?
There are lockers at all locations that are large enough for keyboards, for example. They are located in the passageway between building 449 and 441, in building 141 in the passageway from the corridor to the computer center extension and in the CS currently in the social room on the 3rd floor and soon in building 20.20 in room 372.2. The key for the locker is issued at the service desk in the CN and in the secretariat in the CS.
Do I have to observe any rules of conduct?
The everyday rules of mutual consideration apply. The rooms and workstations must be available to the next users "as if unused". Therefore, please remove personal belongings and waste, wipe down the desk if necessary and report any defective equipment (new-work-support∂scc.kit.edu), lock rooms if possible.
