"bwCloud-OS" enables the flexible operation of virtual machines (VMs) on a cloud platform based on OpenStack.
The new generation (Gen3) of "bwCloud-OS" is now available to staff and students at KIT. This will be subject to a charge from 1 September 2026 and will be billed internally at KIT.
The previous generation of the bwCloud OS infrastructure (Gen2) will only remain in operation until 15 September 2026 (s. Shutdown notice regarding bwcloud-OS.de).
We would like to inform all users that there will be no automatic migration of VMs from the Gen2 to the Gen3 infrastructure. Users must either manually migrate their VMs from Gen2 or set them up again on the new Gen3 infrastructure.
