HiSim – Explore. Simulate. Understand
The most important facts at a glance
| What: | As part of this two-month project, you will not only explore important quantum algorithms and how they work, but also get hands-on with their implementation. You and your group of fellow students will be accompanied by scientists from the KIT Computing Center throughout the process. |
| Who: | Do you love challenges in the natural sciences and information technology? Do you want to understand what's behind quantum computers and develop your own mathematical algorithms and models? If you are in at least 8th grade, sign up with us now! |
| When and where: | On Thursday, May 7, 2026, an initial meeting with the scientists will take place in Karlsruhe for all participants, starting at 3:00 PM. In the following weeks, participants will work independently in groups on digital materials and will be supervised by the scientists. Travel to Karlsruhe is not required during this period. At a closing event in Karlsruhe on June 22, students will present their results and receive a guided tour of HoReKa, one of the most powerful computers in Europe. |
| Registration: | Registration is open until all spots are filled, but no later than April 26, 2026, by email (subject: Anmeldung HiSim) to the email address katharina.bata∂kit.edu. |
