SCC

The Scientific Computing Center (SCC) is the Information Technology Centre of KIT. We work in a wide variety of projects with universities, research institutions and companies, both nationally and internationally. Topics range from the analysis of large scale data to data-intensive computing and cloud computing to parallel and numerical methods. We develop and operate innovative IT services as well as large research facilities.

Sie sind verantwortlich für:

  • die Administration der Computer Poolräume (9 Poolräume mit ca. 300 PC’s)
    • Betrieb und Wartung der PC-Infrastruktur inkl. Rollout und Pflege von Images (Windows / Linux)
    • Konfiguration der Clientsysteme
    • Koordination der beteiligten Mitarbeitenden zur Sicherstellung eines reibungslosen Ablaufes und Betrieb
  • den Studierendensupport
    • Support für Studierende
    • Beratung und Anleitung bei der Konfiguration und Installation von Software (VPN-Client, Sicherheitstools, lizenzierte Campus Software)
    • Fehleranalyse auf Endgeräten (Notebook/Mobilgeräte) ) inkl. Wiederherstellungs- und Workaround-Empfehlungen
  • die Hiwi-Betreuung bei Infrastructure Services (INF)
    • Einsatzplanung studentischer Hilfskräfte
    • Einarbeitung in Standardprozesse (Ticketing, Raum-Check) und Unterweisung zu Datenschutz sowie IT-Security
  • die Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung von strategischen Aufgaben u. a. Konzeptionelle Weiterentwicklung der Support- Betriebsprozesse für IT enabled Study Spaces (Analyse von Auslastung, Ticketdaten, etc.)
  • die Unterstützung bei der Durchführung und Vorbereitung digitaler Prüfungen

Personal qualification

Sie verfügen über:

  • eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker (w/m/d) oder vergleichbarer Ausbildung mit mehrjähriger Berufserfahrung 
  • Kenntnisse in den Bereichen
    • Windows und Linux
    • Client-Administration und Softwarebereitstellung
    • Hardware-Support 
    • PC-Arbeitsplatzumgebungen
  • Erfahrung in der Koordination von Arbeitsabläufen sind von Vorteil
  • gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
