INF - Infrastructure Services
The Infrastructure Services Department (INF) provides and operates the central technical infrastructure required for teaching, learning, and IT services at the SCC.
A key responsibility of the department is the infrastructure management of the SCC data centers. This includes power supply, cooling, technical operating conditions, and the coordination of required maintenance activities. In addition, INF plans and manages housing facilities where other institutions can accommodate their servers and IT systems in a secure and professionally monitored environment.
INF supports the implementation of applicable security requirements, organizes the necessary safety briefings and training, and administers the SCC’s SiPort access control system. In doing so, the department makes a significant contribution to the secure and reliable operation of the data centers.
Within the area of IT-enabled Study Spaces, INF operates and maintains the SCC’s learning spaces and computer labs. Student assistants supervised by INF provide on-site support as the first point of contact for users, following the principle of “students supporting students.”
Furthermore, INF provides the SCC’s printing and plotting services and ensures the reliable operation of the associated systems.
